Being Enough

I think it is safe to say that as human beings we all have a deep desire to love and be loved in return. There is something comforting in words of affirmation and knowing someone sees you in a way no one else does.

Sometimes though we let this desire lead us blindly. It has been said that love can make you blind but I believe the right kind of love can make you see. It has the ability to not only open your heart but open your eyes. In this search for love I think many of us fall into the mind set of not being, “enough.” I myself have fallen into this dangerous trap but slowly I have started to realize how wrong and damaging this mind set is. Just because you aren’t right for one person doesn’t mean you aren’t enough.

So much heartache could be prevented if we simply change the way we view the things that aren’t meant for us. Although it is difficult to understand why someone you feel deeply for doesn't feel the same toward you, it it utterly important to know that someones inability to see your worth is not a reflection of your value.

I always find myself searching for a pinpoint explanation and although that would make my life easier life isn’t always black and white. Bad things happen to good people, and people fall in love with the wrong person. But here is the good news, tomorrow is a brand new day and just because someone is a good person doesn’t mean they are THE person for you. This may sound silly, but think about it. I love chips & salsa and I equally love ice cream but that doesn’t mean they go together. Although those two things don’t go together there are things out there that compliment them greatly. So please remember this, there is someone out there who will compliment you in the best of ways. They will make you better, help you live life fuller, and until then spend sometime learning to love yourself. Because loving yourself and knowing you are enough will only help you love better. So go ahead and love yourself, the rest will fall into place!
